Skill Level: Beginner/Novice
Join our introductory class covering the basics of woodworking tools, including everything that you will need to get started on your own DIY projects. Learn how to use woodworking tools safely and accurately, while building upon your skills to confidently embark on your own building projects.
Workshop attendees will:
accurately measure and mark, and estimate materials
learn how to use hand saws and power saws to cut length, width, mitered cuts and curved shapes
learn how to use hand tools for shaping such as chisels, block planes, knives, rasps, and files
learn about various ways to fasten pieces together (i.e., screws, nails, staples, glue and clamps, and biscuit joining)
design your own project, from sketching to picking materials

Late Policy: Please arrive on time so that you do not miss the safety talk. For safety reasons, those arriving 15 or more minutes late may be refused at the discretion of the workshop host.
Refunds/Exchanges: All workshops are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. However, they may be transferred to another party by emailing info@thegreenproject.org. Any unused workshop fees will be applied as a donation to our Environmental Education and MakerSpace programs.
